He obtained his BFA from Nipissing University in 2012. As a landscape inspired oil painter, he is driven to create from the unashamed pleasure taken in the act of painting and profound personal experiences produced within the land. As a teen working as stable boy and farm hand have all been profound experiences of fresh air and hard labour which shaped him and his work. To depict the lands essence is his main goal, through the themes of void, impermanence and identity.
He feels it is unnecessary to recreate a specific landscape, even thought the physical and emotions experience within a landscape is the inspiration. His only goal is to create a pause from daily life or a void where ones thoughts can exist in order to experience a state of clarity. The land is but one form of expression of theses experiences.
