Meral expresses herself best in watercolors. She attended numerous courses, including the watercolour painting course at the New York Arts Academy. She has completed workshops with distinguished artists and participated in several juried exhibitions.

Meral’s interest in visual arts is also reflected in her involvement with several art associations and galleries; Past president of the Board of Trustees of the Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa, past president of the Oshawa Art Association and currently she is a member of the Women’s Art Association of Canada and Toronto Watercolour Society.

Her affection for the beauty of the nature is revealed in her paintings through realistic landscapes, colorful florals, shapes found in nature, ethnic rugs and copper pots.
