Our Lady of the Northern Forest

Influenced by my twelve years in Yukon, this assemblage has a paper mache mask over a small bird's nest. Twigs and bark I found walking the trails in Niagara form the body. Repurposed wolf fur from my old parka, which was made in NWT, gives the small figure a sense of Canada's North. Like all of the bird's nest creations the mask lifts to reveal a uniquely symbolic interior.
