WELLAND
Baxo is a Niagara-based artist and the creator of Aluminism — a practice built around direct intervention into aluminum surfaces.Through grinding, carving, transparent pigments, controlled chemical reactions, and high-gloss finishing, he transforms industrial material into light-reactive works that shift with movement and perspective. Aluminum is treated as both medium and subject, recording every action taken against it.
The work asks a question it never fully answers: what is real, and what is reflected? The surface mirrors the world back — but distorted, transformed by texture and angle. That gap between perception and reality is where Aluminism lives.
Chapter II marks a deliberate evolution — more intentional in scale, depth, and concept. This is the work at its fullest expression.
