Quiet Evening

This piece for my drawing and painting class culminating. The project was to choose an art movement and create a piece inspired by the movement and specific artists from the movement. For my piece I chose to focus on Impressionism and take inspiration from Mary Cassatt's painting “Little Girl in a Blue ArmChair”. I took inspiration from the vibrant colour palette and how the subject is displayed living an ordinary life. I chose to paint my sister, who you see reading in the painting.
