Ridgeville
Jessica Szaszi is a Niagara-based mixed media artist known for her intricate ink work and nature-inspired imagery. Her practice explores themes of transformation, inner growth, and the connection between human experience and the natural world.Working primarily in ink as well as traditional printmaking, she creates meditative pieces that invite stillness and close observation.
Her Mushroom Muse series takes a playful turn, imagining women bringing fungi to life by wearing them as art deco-inspired garments. Inspired by the vast variety of mushroom forms, textures, and colours, the series transforms the forest floor into a fashion-forward stage.
Jessica is primarily self-taught, with additional studies at Niagara College, where she completed an Art and Design Diploma, and Sheridan College. She works as a commissioned artist and continues to develop her practice with a focus on close observation and the relationship between the self and nature.
