Radiance

Rosemarie Armstrong

Rays of sunlight appear through the clouds, often at dawn or dusk. They are most profound when there is stark contrast between light and dark. These rays frequently appear over the ocean where ideal conditions occur; low angle sunlight, high humidity and clouds. Particles of sea spray scatter sunlight, making rays more visible. To witness this is magic. God’s rays, sunbeams, moonbeams. The scientific term for this natural phenomenon is crepuscular rays.
