Oakville
Art has been a constant in my life. Chemical engineer by trade, I am transitioning profesionally into the visual arts, with the goal of dedicating myself fully to painting. Born in former Yugoslavia, I immigrated to Canada with my young family in the early 90s due to the civil war. My time in this beautiful country has been life-changing, and I aim to portray the beauty of Canadian landscapes in my art. While I enjoy painting still life and figures, my recent work has been focusing on oil landscapes inspired by the Barbizon school — a 19th-century movement celebrated for its honest, luminous portrayals of the natural world. I paint what I observe closely and feel deeply. I currently study at the Vladimir Ribatchok School of Art and continue to develop my practice under the guidance of Oakville-based artist Tritan Braho.
