Fugue

This painted collage is part of a small series called “A Concise History of Music.” The name of the series refers to the book that was used to create the first layer of paper in the paintings. Fugue contains a cascade of shapes in warm, earthy tones. The compositions in this series are intended to reflect the ephemeral qualities of music, with a combination of balance and movement in the design. These works are coated with an archival varnish to protect from UV damage.
