Summerings

The title is a combination of the Slovak term for the tree’s annual growth rings “letokruhy” . (Leto-Summer and kruhy-rings). In English the term “summering” simply means spending a Summer. The painting was created during the warmest months of 2022. It is a tale of a flow, connection, growth and the inevitable passing of time. The colours I utilized in this painting speak of the experience of basking in August’s heat just before the changing of seasons into autumn at summer's end.
