Racing at Dusk

The transparent and often luminous qualities of watercolour becomes evident in Racing at Dusk. Reflections and the skies are a perfect backdrop for this sailing event. I hope the viewer doesn't try to focus on one winner, but enjoys the mesmerizing sails as the focal point of the scene. A watercolour resist was used to create the "whites" and transparent watercolour paint was used to create the painting's effects.The painting is presented framed, under a white archival mat and glass.
