Indigo Blue Waterloo

My aim was to contrast the rich deep blue colour and chrome wheels of this classic car with the rustic textures of a rural Waterloo setting. Original oil paintings begin with a concept from photographic reference taken at classic cars shows, rural areas, making the painting experience truly personal. Images are compiled and a composition emerges. I begin with a detailed pencil sketch and then apply colour using a poppyseed oil medium. Finished with a Satin varnish. Unframed but ready to hang.
