Salmon T-Byrd Waterloo

This piece features the play of light, shadow and reflection on the open hood of a 1950s Thunderbird set in rural Waterloo. Original oil paintings begin with a concept from photographic reference taken at classic cars shows, rural areas, and barns, making the painting experience truly personal. Images are compiled and a composition emerges. I begin with a detailed pencil sketch and then apply colour using a poppyseed oil medium. Finished with a Satin varnish. Unframed but ready to hang.
